Why We Use Kailh GM 8.0 Switches & What Makes Ours Different?
One question that we receive a lot from fans is “Why Does Fantech Use Kailh GM 8.0 Switches”? Just like many other features of a high-end gaming mouse, switches are very subjective. Some people may like Huano Blue Shell Pink Dot switches, while others may like TTC Dust Proof, and some may like Kailh GM 8.0!
However, our Kailh GM 8.0 switches, and the methods we use to implement them, are a bit different than those that are commonly found on the market.
Why Our Kailh GM 8.0 Switches Are Different
With our changes to the implementation and the actuation force of the Kailh GM 8.0 switches, we strive to give gamers and unmatched experience.
What are the Benefits of Kailh GM 8.0 Switches?
One of the main benefits of the Kailh GM 8.0 is that it's the most durable in Kailh's GM lineup. Additionally, they provide really crispy clicks and a snappy response to give precise feedback when gaming. Throughout the market, they've been generally well received and are becoming one of the industry standard switches to use. Definitely a perfect pick for people who love switches that give a strong feedback.
With our Kailh GM 8.0 switches, we go the extra mile to make sure they're the best they can be. This is done by switch binning and fine-tuning.
What is Switch Binning/Sorting?
Switch binning refers to grouping switches that exhibit the same actuation force and general feel during production. This ensures that both the right and left mouse button, as well as the entire product line feels the same, as it should. Nothing is worse than getting a mouse that has buttons that feel different than each other. Our process ensures that customers get the same feel that is demonstrated and talked about by reviewers, enthusiasts and more.
Pre-sorting isn't something that all brands do, due to the time and costs connected to it, but we strive to do this to ensure that gamers can get a solid experience on day-1 and day-100 with the mouse.
What Else Do We Do to Improve Mouse Switch Performance?
Another part of our process is fine-tuning the pre-travel (space before the switch activates) and post-travel (space after the switch activates and returns to the null position). We finely tune both of these to provide an amazing experience out of the box. Kailh GM 8.0’s have a reputation of being difficult to click fast due to the tactility, however our fine-tune adjustments help overcome this issue. The result? An amazingly crispy click experience (which we’re pretty well known for), that can be clicked fast and precise every time.
