How to Connect 3.5mm Headphones to Your Type-C Phone
There are several ways to listen to music on a mobile phone, however, a lot of modern phones don’t include the standard 3.5mm headphone port. This can make connecting stereo headsets or headphones difficult. Here’s how to solve that!
This may seem counter-intuitive, but USB-C does come with a lot of benefits. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!
How to Connect Stereo 3.5mm Headphones to a USB Type-C Mobile Phone
As the connectors for USB Type-C and a 3.5mm audio jack are different, an adapter is required to connect headphones that have a standard 3.5mm audio jack.
To do this, simply plug in a USB-C to 3.5mm Adapter into your phone, and then connect the headphones into the adapter.
USB-C to 3.5mm Adapters can be purchased from most electrical product retailers, and online stores. Just be aware that not all USB-C to 3.5mm Adapters support TRRS (headphone + microphone) connectivity. So it is best to double check before purchasing. If you have a headset with microphone that has dual 3.5mm jacks (1 for mic, 1 for speakers), then be sure to buy an adapter that has both ports on it.

One great tip is to enable any noise cancellation, virtual surround sound or other audio technologies that your phone has (usually located in the top bar), to get the most out of your headset or headphones.
Lastly, if your phone has a built in DAC (Digital Audio Converter), be sure to try this out with your favorite songs as you may enjoy the outcome.
